Another thing she does in the video is, on one of her dropbacks, to take her arms over from scratch rather than through stages of hands in prayer to chest and then forehead, wanted to try that too.
So it went pretty well, quite pleased with these. The coming back up is still a problem, I did a few before this with my old style return, splaying the feet but want to try and break the habit. I'd rather not come up at all for a while and just keep working on coming up with straight(er) feet.
I noticed pushing off the wall that as I come up the last bit my legs, and thus my hips, are kind of locked up, perhaps that's part of the problem. I'm pretty sure I already have the tools I need for this, just a case of finding the trick to it, the right coordination.
My suspicion is that it's something to do with a little bend in the knees, bringing them over the feet and thus the hips forward, just cant seem to bring myself to do it.
Another weird thing, when I look down at my feet they look straight and yet in the video they look angled out, there's a couple of times in the video I look down to check and don't move them, so they must be straight right? An optical illusion perhaps, must try filming from the frount to see. Ok, this is the stupidest video I've posted.
And this is the dropback and return that I'd like from here

Where's S's drop back video?
You seem to have the first part down pretty well! I can't bend my knees deeply either, but of course you know that. It's got something to do with hip flexors I think.
It's not on youtube but buried away somewhere on her blog so don't want to post a link here before asking.
Yep, checked this morning and my feet stay straight, it's optical because the frount of my feet are so wide, duck feet. Sadly there's nothing optical about when I come back up, they just splay out 45 degrees, 33 on a good day.
Off work for another week so going to keep at the backbends and then let them tick over on the back burner.
Maybe it is hip flexors but I can't help thinking there's a trick to it and we've just got locked into one way of doing it and can't break out of it, something I'm missing. Going to watch a lot of videos next week and break it down, screenshots the lot.
But If not, whatever, I'll settle for the 33 degrees.
The third one was pretty good!, as per the feet, yes, is it an optical illusion? how strange...
Great that you are choosing to stay with it until you can come up straight rather than continue the old habit, very yogi of you!, as per me I suppose I have been luckily indoctrinated into the straight feet dogma from the beginning, I suppose that is the reason why it is taking sooooo long for me
Hey Boodi, it's an old one from last year. Thought I'd put it on youtube, along with my two other videos..

Grimm - how can it be an optical illusion? The outer edges of the feet should be parallel, and look at where your toes and heels are relative to the edge of the mat. Maybe you're judging by the inner edges?
Is that very yogic of me Claudia? I kind of think it would be more yogic of me to worry less about the form and aesthetics of the asana and spend more time on my Pranayama, but I'm a sucker for asana. I like the third one two, just posted the dropback from PeaceLoveYoga, she starts from arms over head, want to try that and look how close her feet are together, and are they slightly turned in or is that optical.
Talking of optical illusion. Susan, : ) ..... I guess my idea of straight is how I naturally stand and a line running through the heel and the center of my foot. My idea of keeping my feet straight would be to dropback and come up without moving them from that position. My feet are quite wide at the frount. For me to have the outside edge of my foot in line with the edge of the mat I would have to turn my heels out, or the frount of my foot in. Pigeon toed dropbacks? prepared to try it though, I'm moving my feet like that now and it kind of turns my knees in feels strange. Perhaps my natural stance is to have my feet slightly turned out though.
Filmed my feet this morning, posting it now, how silly is that. Not turning out so much but I am using the wall to push off.
check out Napper, just posted some gorgeous dropback's, says she used to splay her feet too.
