Christmas Morning practice : Festive Monkey mind

Up at five for practice this Christmas morn, roll out the mat, tadasans sequence, half way through "Frosty the blimmin Snowman' starts working it's way through my head ( at least it was the Dino version). Manage to banish Frosty from my mind by focusing on the breath but as I get a nice rhythm going in the sury's the version of 'Jungle bells Jingle bells rock' from Die Hard invades my mat space. Again, focus on the breath, all going well until half way through Primary I notice my Sunset Equ towel is really quite red in the half light and succumb to 'Rudolf the red nose ruddy reindeer'.

*Picture, 'Monkey Mind', by kind permission of the artist Heather Gorham, many thanks (click on her name to link to her site).

Too funny. I practiced this morning by the tree and struggled to focus as well. I didn't follow a series but took the day as a license to do whatever I felt moved to do, and had a great practice, banishing much soreness from the practice week. Merry Christmas.

Happy Christmas (well, now Boxing day) Grim! You know sometimes you've gotta let that blasted internal DJ play on and just rock out with it. ;)

May your upcoming year be full of deep back bends, elegant inversions, and lightness. Peace.

Just gave into it after Rudolf, Portside, fun practice actually. thank you for wonderful the new year wishes. I of course wish you the same.

And to you too Floss.

What Cricket, my mind is on my yoga, won't catch me checking the scores before entering Paschi or just before the backbends or as I lay in savasana. Only thing I will say is bring back Shane Warne! Just to make a game of it : )
