First Ashtanga 2nd series in two months.

Saturday was supposed to have been a rest day but I woke up early and full of beans, decided to get on and do 2nd and keep Sunday for one of the longer Vinyasa Krama sequences.

This was my first 2nd series in eight weeks due to the Month+ Led primary experiment and the return to Vinyasa krama during the week.

And it went well enough, hand bind rather than wrist in pasasana, settle for that for the first one back. Backbends were fine but then I've been doing those in the VK Bow and Meditative sequences a couple of times last week. Supta vajrasana was strong though and something I haven't worked on. Bakasana, floaty. The leg behind head postures were quite straight forward but then I was doing the dwi pada entry to Supta kurmasana in Primary and some LBH in the VK Asymmetric and Seated sequences. Karandavasana is the weak point, can take the lotus down and up easily enough but still very squished, would love to eliminate that if only for the sake of elegance, spoils the sheer joy of the pose. Talking of joy, vatayanasana was one of my best ever, nicely controlled and very tall in the pose, enjoyed that, have the image of the beanstalk form jack and the beanstalk in my head while doing it.

Still can't do a decent SUPV but never really taken it seriously, I probably should if only for completeness but have never really liked it, always looks awkward whoever demonstrates it. Seven deadlies, again straight forward. Best thing about a month or more of primary is that your pretty fit, once you know the poses of 2nd is kind of easier.

I enjoyed it, looking forward to spending a month of led 2nd a few weeks from now.

I so suck at the SUPV. My 2nd is the worst of my series cause it's never gotten as much attention. But it doesn't really matter. It's all the same stuff.

You too Boodie, thanks makes me feel a little better. Starting to like Intermediate again, was planning to do a long Vinyasa Krama sequence today but am craving 2nd, perhaps because of that long month of Primary.
