2nd series Savasana

That about sums it up.

Thought I'd weigh myself before and after practice again, this time it was 77.2 kilo before practice, 76.1 after, so only a kilo, seems a lot healthier than yesterdays two kilo swetathon.

It was a little more composed 2nd this morning, everything a tad more controlled but still not pretty. I think I was probably a little looser after yesterday, dreading Thursday though when the body will no doubt tighten up and be full of aches and pains, should probably get hold of some epsom salts.

Wanted to send out some 'love and light 'to all practicing 2nd series this morning. Now I'm not one for such expressions, can't even manage a shanti at the end of an email. Charmed when I receive them but uncomfortable using them myself, (too English?). This morning though it struck me that 2nd can be a dark place and I felt all warm and gooey to everyone else going through it this morning, so ....love and light y'all.

And of course Primary can have it's shadowy recesses too so the the same to everyone struggling through their Primary

As for anyone on third series.... well what did you expect : )  my affections anyway.

M. is going to tease me rotten for this one.

Car crash Ashtanga, which is how I'm referring to this stint of throwing myself back into 2nd seems a long way from the principles of Vinyasa Krama, no?

In VK your wanting to keep the heart rate down, the breath nice and controlled. Any agitation and we'll lie down for a short savasana till we settle.

Actually, I think Ashtanga is pretty much the same, your not trying to give yourself a heart attack here, yeah you need a little heat but your not actually trying to 'feel the burn'.

My Primary tends to be pretty composed, the breath even, 2nd will get back to being like that too.... pretty much. This is a transition period, my own fault for not keeping the practice up and for throwing myself back in rather than working myself back into it gradually.

Vinyasa Krama does have a slower pace than ashtanga, they're never going to meet in the middle, I worked that out but I don't believe that they're as far apart as  first appears. This morning I'd settled down by the end of finishing had a change of equa towel and clothes all ready and was able to move quickly into a nice stint of pranayama and a short sit..... and after that wild and woolly 2nd there wasn't a raja in sight.

No well wishes for the VK practitioners? Haha. Good to hear your doing secondary series again.

Welcome Karen, hope it was a good one.

Sorry Chris, love and light to your too brother. Do still like the idea of keeping up both early and late Krishnamacharya, lost a little of the fitness level but think I'm more flexible from the VK. going to do my evening karma practice now.

Losing 2kg of sweat - yikes! Hope your water intake is plentiful. :)
