| 3 day workshop Triyoga london |
I posted a couple of video's last week of an interview with Maty Ezraty, AC then sent me a link to a weekend of workshops Maty's conducting at Triyoga, London in October ( Thanks AC). I though the choice of workshops sounded interesting, a little different.
The art of reading bodies + hands-on adjustments.
The shoulder girdle mantra
Breath, roots + core:
Arm balances: get grounded for confidence in arm balancing
The ones on the shoulder girdle and arm balances seem to be about keeping us safe in our practice and seeing as a friend of mine seems to be straining his shoulder at the moment, possibly as a result of practice I thought it sounded a good idea.
Tempted to try and make these, they'll be my first workshop if I do. If not and anyone does go, I'd love to hear about it.
Personally I think I should get a free pass to the one on alignment, having always practiced at home I would be the perfect Cavia porcellus. I'd be like that skeleton they always bring to teacher trainings, pulling and twisting about.
Below are the details in full.

3-day teacher intensive:
the art of reading bodies + hands-on adjustments
fri 07 – sun 09 october 2011 2.30pm – 5.30pm
triyoga soho
for teachers and students who want to deepen their understanding of asana
£110
Reading bodies and hands-on adjustments are both fundamental tools for teaching yoga. As teachers we need to refine our ability to see students and be able to help each individual move to the next level in their practice. In this workshop we will develop our ability to see and touch effectively. We will learn to be sensitive with our hands so we can communicate to our students in yet another way.
Topics that will be covered:
•The art of observation
•Modifying poses
•Hands on adjustments
•The use of props
This workshop is open to teachers and to students who want to deepen their understanding of Asana. Each class will begin with a short practice. Partner work and observation of bodies will be used.

fri 07 october 2011 7.45pm – 9.45pm
the shoulder girdle mantra
triyoga soho
for all levels
£30
Proper shoulder alignment is the key to a long and healthy practice. This workshop will set up the basic alignment principles to cultivate safe shoulder work. We will work with the basic Sun Salutations, Chaturanga Dandasana (four-limbed staff pose), Urdhva Mukha Svanasana (upward facing dog) and Adho Mukha Svanasana (downward facing dog). Time will be devoted to learning both the strengthening and opening aspects of the shoulder girdle. Common shoulder injuries and their causes will be addressed. We will spend time practising as well as observing bodies.

sat 08 october 2011 10.00am – 12.30pm
breath, roots + core:
master flow class
triyoga soho
for all levels
£35
In this master flow workshop we will explore the unifying of breath and movement, the understanding of working from the ground up and how to find our core centre so that we can go inward.
Breath is the most important unifying focal point; with breath we unite the body, mind and spirit. ‘Roots’ refers to understanding the cause and origin of our work. Core used correctly direct us inward. When we are able to maintain this focus, we are less likely to injure ourselves. We can progress more efficiently to the true goal of yoga in an appropriate and individual way.

arm balances: get grounded for confidence in arm balancing
triyoga soho
for all levels
£35
It’s all in the set up! This workshop is for those challenged by arm balances and for those who love them!
We will explore poses that will strengthen and prepare for arm balances. Basic shoulder alignment will be built through simpler poses and carried forth to full arm balances. Students will be guided through a sequence that will prepare the foundation necessary to do these poses with ease and freedom.

You should go, looks good, if I were in London I'd definitely make a bee line..
Thinking very seriously about it, love that picture by the way. Trouble is now I've posted all the details it'll sell out and I won't be able to get a place. Come to think of it probably lost most of my Ashtangi readership over the last few months so probably safe.
as an ashtangii, I, for one, have stopped reading your blog in sheer outrage. Not.
Thanks Chris, glad I haven't pissed you off too much.
