Small Blue Pearls has had a project going recently where people are sending pictures of their mats, just their mats, laid out wherever they happen to practice,
I kept seeing these images popping up on fb and wondered what was going on, finally caught a post explaining it.
"...this project is about daily practice and how we manage it regardless of where we are. It's about the possibility that each practice holds at the start—before we even begin". Laura
There's now also a facebook page

And here are mine.
I noticed that the pictures I have pop up early in my holiday photo albums. It seems it's the first thing I do. M. is off checking the view or the bathroom and I'm looking for where I'll be able to best lay my mat.

Below is one of my favourites, while on a solo practice break in South Wales I was given a room upgrade, all this just for me and my mat.

Balconies are always nice, this was the first I ever practiced on.

Stone floors are a bonus as the mat grips, sadly I didn't bring my more cushioning Manduka
Worst case scenario, between the beds of a twin room

Santorini had the best of both worlds, lots of space and a stone floor...I'd taken my Manduka too thankfully, the one in Santorini blue that manduka had sent me especially.

OK, I take it back this is the worst case scenario...I ended up moving it into the bathroom and practiced there instead.
Wherever we find the space right. This one reminds me of Ramaswami's Vinyasa Krama TT course in LA. We were sharing rooms so I used to the get up 4am and practice Ashtanga in the stairwell before going on to the three hour Vinyasa Krama asana class ( until the second week when it began to get a lot tougher with the Triangle and On one leg sequences).

No place like home

And the ones that got a way.
SBP is looking for pictures of just the runway, no bodies, no asana just the mat ( OK perhaps a cat or dog....). Sadly I didn't take a shot of just the mat here, shame love the colours.
So again, here are the links, send in your own pictures and help them with the project, they're aiming for 750.
Really doesn't matter, where your runway is, doesn't have to be a fancy location or a particularly pretty shot.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR RUNWAY PHOTOS
Please use this email to send us your runway photos, and put your name and 'runways' into the subject line and attach your photo to the email message. Files should be as large as possible and saved as jpegs. Cell phone photos are just fine!
In your message include FULL NAME, LOCATION OF PHOTO, DATE and TIME OF DAY (if you know it). Location is important since we get photos from all over of the globe and we love making maps.
